Parliamentary reception
Investment in Existing Homes Central to Meeting Targets
ExHA held a Scottish Parliamentary reception hosted by Aileen McLeod MSP where Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure and Capital Investment, Alex Neil, said Scotland will be unable to meet it’s targets on Climate Change and fuel poverty without substantial investment in the energy efficiency of existing homes.
Speaking at the reception Mr Neil said the Scottish Government was totally committed to improving existing homes.
Mr Neil told a cross-party gathering of MSPs and a wide range of stakeholders that fuel poverty is a scourge which is totally unacceptable in a civilised society and said he was empathetic towards the Existing Homes Alliance call for a National Retrofit Programme.
